This workshop covers the five main types of payment for exports, from advance payment to open account, including Sight Documentary Collection, Term Documentary Collection and Documentary Letters of Credit. It includes the use of Bills of Exchange with and without documents.

The BCC engaged with the German Embassy last week over a range of issues affecting UK businesses in trade with Germany.

UK government officials briefed the Chambers Network this week on the new Developing Countries Trading Scheme due to take effect on Monday 19 June.

We are days away from the trade deals with Australia and New Zealand being operable by UK businesses. Watch out for new guidance and communications from the UK government over the coming days.

The first National Semiconductor Strategy was unveiled by the UK government on 19 May. Read the British Chambers of Commerce response here. 

The House of Lords amendments on the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill were debated by MPs last week. The Bill returns to the House of Lords for further consideration on Tuesday 6 June.

The deadline for submissions to the UK government call for evidence on carbon leakage policy is Thursday 22 June.
