Are you interested in improving trading terms with customers in Turkey? Please contact me with any examples of where an upgraded trade deal with Turkey would help goods or services for exporters or importers. This information will be shared with the British Chambers of Commerce who lobby on our behalf.
Our reach continues to grow and last week we welcomed the British Chamber of Commerce in Guyana to our amazing Chamber Network.
We are asking for companies to get involved in an e-ATA Carnet pilot. Please see details below on how to get involved.

Would you like to get involved in our e-ATA Carnet pilot?
Digital Carnets are being trialled as part of an international trial and we invite you to be part of this pilot. The purpose of the pilot is to demonstrate that all aspects of the ATA Carnet lifecycle management can be carried out electronically, in order to enable the World Customs Organisation to adopt digital Carnets as a legally acceptable tools for temporary admission from 2024. The pilot will involve presenting both the paper and digital Carnet in tandem to UK customs and participating foreign Customs. The UK trial will initially involve London Heathrow Airport and will then gradually expand to other airports and RO-RO ports around the country. If you're keen to embrace cutting-edge technology, get in contact with our Carnet team today. This exciting opportunity will allow you to showcase your innovation and help us test the technology involved. |

UK exports moved into reverse in August, according to the latest Office for National Statistics release. Read the BCC’s reaction and analysis of the latest trade data here. The BCC will be joining the Trade Remedies Authority’s Forum on Thursday 2 November at the Congress Centre, London. William Bain will be speaking on a panel focused on green subsidies, the US Inflation Reduction Act, and control of state subsidies in trade. You can register to attend the Forum here. The BCC raised the issue of compliance burdens for UK and other third country steel and iron products with EU sanctions on Russian sourced or processed steel and iron with the EU Embassy. The issue has been referred to DG Trade at the European Commission in Brussels for further consideration. The BCC took part in a roundtable last week on the dispute resolution processes being discussed as part of the UK-India trade negotiations. |
