Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism is a landmark tool to put a fair price on the carbon emitted during the production of carbon intensive goods that are entering the EU, and to encourage cleaner industrial production in non-EU countries. This starts on 31 January and we're holding a free webinar on 6 February to explain more about what it is and how you should be planning your sustainability strategy. Places can be booked below.

Next Monday afternoon we have a webinar to answer your questions following the transition of our export documentation platform to E-ZCert. This is free to attend and will give an overview of the system and offer the opportunity to ask questions. Please register here.

Coming up this week we have our Export Processes & Procedures training course taking place tomorrow - it's not too late to secure your place. Also, on Thursday there is a webinar looking at healthcare trends in Vietnam. Both can be booked using the links further down.

If you have any international trade queries please email internationaltrade@cambscci.co.uk or telephone the team on 01223 237414.

Our TCA: 3 Years On publication continued to have excellent media coverage in late December, outlining our asks for improved trade and regulatory relationships between the UK and the EU.

At the end of January, inbound controls on certain food and plant imports from the EU to GB begin with the introduction of export health certificates on medium risk products of animal or plant origin. See the latest UK government guides on how to comply.

No last minute compromise was reached between the UK and Canada on dairy tariff rate quotas. UK exporters will now have to access Canada’s non-EU quota
