Trading with Jordan
We have received confirmation from HMRC that Chambers will now issue EUR1’s for Jordan.
To date, we have secured trade agreements with 66 non-EU countries. Total UK trade with these countries was worth £217bn in 2019. This has been the culmination of extensive work led by DIT and carried out across government. It is unprecedented in scale and ambition.
Going forward, we aim to secure agreements with countries accounting for 80 per cent of UK total trade within three years of having left the EU. So far, we have secured trade agreements with countries worth 63 per cent of UK total trade in 2019.
On 2 March 2021, the UK signed a trade partnership agreement with Ghana, a country with which the UK shared £1.2bn worth of bilateral trade in 2019. This success was swiftly followed on 4 March 2021 by Suriname becoming the 14th CARIFORUM State to sign up to the CARIFORUM-UK Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). The most recent addition to the UK’s fast-growing stable of trade agreements was the UK-Cameroon EPA, signed on 9 March 2021. These agreements, like all others secured by the UK government, will create opportunities for business, support jobs, foster investment and reduce global poverty.
We have set out clearly on GOV.UK which signed agreements have now entered into effect, and published advice for those agreements which are not in place fully.
We encourage business to consult the updated advice on GOV.UK to understand the UK’s latest trading arrangements.
