Trade update

Last week, the House of Commons Public Accounts Committee issued a report on UK-EU borders. This included a call for additional support for SME traders.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has commenced a 12-week consultation on simplified processes and innovation in customs. They are seeking views on transit, the simplified customs declaration process and the customs intermediary sector. An HMRC webinar on the consultation will take place on Wednesday 2 March at 3.30pm.

DIT has published a revised list of trade deals in force between the UK and non-EU preferential trading partners.

DIT has reached an agreement with South Korea on semi-conductors supply chains. This took place as discussions are beginning on revisions to the UK-South Korea trade continuity agreement, particularly around rules of origin.
