This week, the European Commission announced measures on its Green Deal Industrial Plan and Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (on State Aid).  These are being discussed at the European Council on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 February. We will be discussing the impact on UK exporters of this technology, plus the US Inflation Reduction Act subsidies and the UK government’s response with Trade Policy Minister, Greg Hands MP next week.

Trade negotiations are continuing with India, and the 11 members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), on the two most likely trade deals with the UK to next be completed. Negotiations with Canada, Mexico, Israel, and the Gulf Co-operation Council states are also in progress, with Switzerland and South Korea set to follow.
