Guests enjoyed the opportunity to network and enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast before commencing the roundtable discussion. The discussion covered a wide range of issues currently facing businesses including but not exclusive to skills, sustainability, net zero, transport and planning. Daniel Aldridge then kindly treated attendees to a tour and demonstrations of the amazing equipment they produce at ZEISS. What a week for us!💨 We already shared our busy Monday covering three parts of the County, firstly a tour of the stunning Peterborough Cathedral, then heading to our Cambs Business Forum at Welch's Transport Ltd, and finally Ely Networking at Poets House Hotel and Restaurant in collaboration with Ely Cathedral Business Group👏 Tuesday saw our monthly Stamford Networking continue, this time at the fan-favourite The Crown. Another full room of local businesses building connections and showing us our Stamford community is thriving👏 Charlotte Horobin got together with CEOs across the Chamber network on Wednesday with British Chambers of Commerce to discuss key topics such as improving skills and tackling labour shortages. They heard from Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education, who outlined the work her department is doing to improve access to skills and discussed the role of business in developing workforces of the future👏 Thursday was another busy day, starting with our joint event with Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Huntingdon. We heard from Marc Kent, Andy Clarke and Joe Hilsdon at The ONE Group Ltd on what they are doing to be award winning employers and their experience as employees, as well as Helen Coppen at eg technology Ltd on their inspiring story of becoming employee owned. Claire Paul, Assistant Director Skills at CPCA then delved into their 'Good Work Charter' plans and table discussions explored the content, enabling CPCA to gather valuable feedback from all participants. This input will be instrumental in shaping the final version and we're thrilled our business community are part of this🙌 We were also delighted to jointly host a webinar with neighbours across Chambers East Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Norfolk Chambers of Commerce and Essex Chambers of Commerce & Industry with Department for Business and Trade where Construction Leadership Council shared their work on tackling construction skills. We're always pleased to create environments for your voice to be heard by senior policy makers and industry bodies who really want to understand the feedback from the SME community. Thank you Ashley Shorey-Mills for getting us together to give our members this exclusive opportunity🤝 Finally we headed to Breheny Civil Engineering to meet with our thriving Construction and Property sector to hear what the current issues are in the sector, giving us food for thought for upcoming plans, thank you Chair and Board Director Steve Dighton CEng MICE for hosting🚧 Today we're at ZEISS Group in Cambourne hosting our next exclusive Roundtable. We're pleased to be facilitating discussions amongst our local business community with Anthony Browne MP. We look forward to sharing more on this!
