Made in the UK Mondays: Five UK companies on a mission to make it Big in America

Made in the UK Mondays: Five UK companies on a mission to make it Big in America

What does it take to sell to North America?

You're about to find out.

This year we followed five fearless UK businesses to New York as they embarked on a mission to land their first export deal in one of the world’s largest markets – North America.

And we made a documentary about it.

From meetings with mentors and peers, right through to the all-important pitch meeting, by watching Big in America you’ll get an inside view of what it takes to export to the US from the UK through the eyes of some exciting UK entrepreneurs.

Each episode follows the SME on their export journey to the Big Apple showcasing the free support available from the Department for Business and Trade.

Why North America?

Our HM Trade Commissioner for North America and British Consul General in New York, Emma Wade-Smith OBE sums it up nicely:

The US is the UK’s largest export market for goods and services and the world’s largest economy.

There is a strong appetite for UK goods in the US and with low regulatory barriers, minimal language barriers and access to the global supply chain, it offers huge potential for UK exporters.”
