As the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme comes to an end on 31 October 2020 some businesses will need to consider cost saving mechanisms to ensure the survival of their businesses.
This session will consider what cost saving methods are available to businesses in the current climate including reducing hours of work and reducing pay. Ultimately, if there is no alternative, then consideration will also be given to making redundancies. The session will focus on the legal implications associated with these methods including how to change an employee’s contract of employment, what to do if an employee does not agree to the changes, how to implement a fair redundancy process and the implications of getting it wrong.
Our speakers are Nicola Cockerill, Associate Solicitor at Buckles Solicitors LLP, and Rebecca Ryan, Solicitor at Leeds Day, who both specialise exclusively in employment law.
